Privacy Policy

E'lan / إعلان is a mobile application that surfaces Kuwaiti government job announcements, pay-scale information, Civil Service Commission dates, and related content. This policy explains what data we collect about you, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you accept this policy.

What we collect

• Identity: first and last name and email provided through Sign in with Apple, plus the date of birth you enter during onboarding.
• Education and employment: university major, GPA system, numeric GPA, and the work-experience entries you add to your profile.
• Device identifiers: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver push notifications, and your Apple user identifier.
• User-generated content: the list of jobs you've marked as "applied", and the documents you've ticked off as prepared.
• Notification preferences: whether you've opted in to job-match push notifications.
• Advertising data: when ads are shown, our ad partner Google AdMob receives standard ad-request data (device type, approximate region, anonymised identifiers). We have not implemented App Tracking Transparency, so AdMob cannot access your IDFA and personalised cross-app ad tracking is disabled.

We do not collect: your precise location, photos, contacts, calendar, microphone, browsing history outside the App, or any financial information.

How we use it

• Job matching: comparing your profile against new job postings to determine if they fit your major, GPA, age, and experience.
• Notifications: if opted in, sending a push when a matching job is posted or a CSC date is announced.
• Account management: signing you in, saving your profile, letting you mark jobs as applied.
• Advertising: showing one banner ad in a centred popup at most once every two minutes to keep the App free.

Who we share it with

• Apple — receives Sign in with Apple data (governed by Apple's own privacy policy).
• Google (Firebase + AdMob) — stores your profile, delivers push notifications, serves ads on Google's infrastructure.
• Government employers — when you tap "Apply" on a job, the email or browser opens pre-filled with the employer's contact details. The application is initiated by you; we do not pre-send anything on your behalf.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

Retention

• Active accounts: we keep your profile data as long as you use the App.
• Deleted accounts: when you delete your account from inside the App (Profile → Delete account), your profile and notification logs are wiped immediately and your Apple token is revoked. Propagation through Google Cloud backups may take up to 30 days.

Your rights

• Edit your profile from the Profile tab.
• Disable notifications via the preferences toggle in Profile.
• Revoke Sign in with Apple from iOS Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple. The App will sign you out automatically.
• Delete your account from Profile → Delete account.
• Contact us via the email above for any privacy question or manual deletion request.

Children's privacy

The App is not intended for users under 16. The date-of-birth picker enforces a minimum age of 16. If you believe a child under 16 has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.

Security

We use Sign in with Apple for authentication. Profile data is stored on Google Firebase servers protected by Google's standard security controls. Push notification tokens are encrypted at rest.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you in the App or by email of any material changes before they take effect.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait.
